Communication
One of the most important things in our human world as well as in the world of nature is communication. When people are communicating - with partner, friend, neighbour or even with the dog or cat - there is an immediate reaction.
Communication has also to do with motivation, with waking up feelings. The photography presented in an art-gallery in Enns (the oldest town of Austria) which has been chosen as the place of communication of this Kameraklub Bilderbank Exhibition is reflecting the subject COMMUNICATION in all possible facets. The collection of mostly black and white photos will be presented this year in one gallery in Hungary and one gallery in Romania.
Represented is communication between old and young, between human beings and animals, from a father's hands with the baby in the pre-natal stage, and communication from life to death. Most of the exhibited photographs are from Photographic Society of America ( PSA) -photographers including Derek Slattery, APSA, PPSA, from Switzerland; Joseph Vella, APSA, Malta; Guy Samoyault, APSA, EPSA, France; Jakab Tibor, Romania; and Manfred, FPSA, and Hermine Gsteu, Austria. The 80th Int. KKL-BB-Exhibition will reflect the subject COMMUNICATION, which is an actual issue all the time and the collection will include b&w and color-prints. The Exhibition will take place in the Gallery THEATERL in Perg, Upper-Austria and will be opened in April 2007.
The Kameraklub Bilderbank was founded in 1987 by Manfred Gsteu, member of the Kameraklub Linz, one of the oldest photography clubs of Austria. This unique archive comprises more than 4000 examples of photographers worldwide, from a total of 70 countries. There are approximately 20 themes represented including life, sports, landscape, wildlife, portrait, experimental/digital photography, man in his working environment, children and the environment, etc. In addition there are 30 photo collections of photographic clubs and societies plus some international photographers are included as well as the collection of the Best of PSA International Representatives.
Philosophy of the Bilderbank
Photography is a common medium and platform, which can overcome almost all barriers. It is an international language which can be understood by everybody and images are constant documents of events and emotions which can be transported across all borders and continents. The photos of the Bilderbank show viewers unknown living areas and their people plus explain how life can be. With the photographs of the Bilderbank and of exhibitions taking place in many countries of the world, a cultural exchange is taking place as traditions and mentalities from foreign countries are brought to viewers.
